İnanoğlu born in 1936 in Safranbolu, completed his elementary school education in Safranbolu and his high school education in İstanbul.
As he made his higher education at the High School of Applied Fine Arts, he became an assistant director in 1957 and entered the world of cinema. He became an assistant to the acclaimed directors Omer Lütfi Akad and Nişan Hançer in around 10 movies ; then with the movie “Senden Ayrı Yasayamam” he began his directing career.
After directing nine movies for various producers, he founded his own company Erler Film. Since then, in a period
of 50 years, he made over 200 black-and-white and color feature films within the structure of Erler Film. 21 of them are co-productions with Greece, Italy and Iran. Moreover, he served as administrative producer for American-Japanese-French-German producers who shot feature films and documentaries in Turkey. Erler Film is the oldest film company in our country which is still active.Türker İnanoğlu has directed 66 feature films till today.
In 1979 İnanoğlu, founded the Ulusal Video Company and started the video business for the first time in Turkey. Giving programs to more than 1500 videothéques in Turkey and abroad, he enabled the distribution of domestic movies. Thus, with the video business, for 5 years he releaved the Turkish Cinema facing a crisis at that time.
In 1985, İnanoğlu founded a television studio to prepare television programs. In these studios he produced many news, entertainment and and show programs for TRT, the only broadcasting institution of Turkey at that time. Later as the private televisions began to broadcast, he prepared programs covering over 10.000 hours, for broadcasting institutions like STAR TV- Show TV – Kanal 6, ATV and Kanal D.
In 1994, he took the position of Chairman at ATV and made a great contribution to the exceeding success of the channel. İnanoğlu founded a channel called “ Super Kanal” This channel is still broadcasting on the Turkish cable net under the name of “Dream TV”.
İnanoğlu, owner of the Beyoğlu Atlas, Şişli Kent and Kavacık Boğaziçi Cinema complexes, opened in 2005 the TIM-Türker İnanoğlu Maslak Show Center – a cultural venue with a Grand Hall with 2010 seats, 1 theater Hall, 5 movietheaters, meeting rooms, restaurants and shops. The venue serves the worlds of art, culture and business hosting musicals, shows, concerts, congresses and conferences.
For long years İnanoğlu has been an administrator of Vocational Associations, Societies related to the movie business and at The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Vocational Committees. His activities in proffessional societies started in the 1960’s, with his Executive Board Membership of the Film Makers Association and in 1973, by founding The Turkish Movie Producers Association together with 8 colleagues, he continued his activities. In 1980, as he was the chairman, this association was closed. İnanoğlu founded FIYAP - Film Producers Association in 1982 and he performed as its chairman for a long time. Later, he became the founding member and chairman of SESAM, which has been founded with the initiation of the State. İnanoğlu, being the chairman of these societies and associations incessantly for 14 years, has initiated within this time the passing of laws and carrying out vocational regulations which were crucial for the Turkish Cinema.
Today İnanoğlu is still the Honorary Chairman of SESAM - The Vocational Union of Cinema Work Owners. He has been awarded with “Lifelong Honorary Award”s by the Altın Portakal Film Festival of the Antalya Mucicipality, the Izmir Fair Administration of the Izmir Municipality, Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation and the Ministry of Culture.
In 1997 Türker İnanoglu founded TURVAK - Türker İnanoğlu Cinema Foundation and turned over the royalty rights of all the movies and TV programmes he has produced to this foundation. This foundation supports needy cinema workers and their families financially, and provides scholarships for university students studying in the theatrical domain amd other students in need of financial support. İnanoğlu also founded an elementary school of 16 classrooms, and TURVAK –Cinema Television Education Center, offering education in the fields of cinema and television.
Türker İnanoğlu, founder also of the first Cinema-Theatre Museum in Turkey, wrote a book called “Sinema ve Televizyon Üzerine Denemeler / Essays on Cinema and Television”. He prepared an archival book named “5555 Afişle Türk Sineması” / Turkish Cinema with 5555 Posters”, covering almost all movie posters of films produced in the Turkish Cinema from the very beginning. Biographic programs about Türker İnanoğlu have been prepared and broadcast by the TRT, CNN, ATV and NTV televisions. İnanoğlu’s life account and professional career are covered in detail in the 500 paged documentarial book called “Bay Sinema / Mr.Cinema” written by cinema historian Giovanni Scognamillo.
Türker İnanoğlu is married to the movie actress Gulsen Bubikoglu and has two children, called Ilker and Zeynep.
