Inanoglu impressed film producer Necil Ozon, director Nisan Hancer and art director Zaven Bey, who had come over with the intention of making some shootings at his neighbor Kadri Cenani’s house. Nisan Hancer, who thought Inanoglu might be successful in cinema, suggested him to become his assistant and thus Inanoglu entered the world of Turkish cinema with the movie “Yosmanin Kizi”, produced by Fuat Rutkay.
Later on, he successfully took charge as assistant director in the movies of Nisan Hancer (“Dikenli Yol / The Thorny Way”, “Funda”, “Kibris’in Belasi Kizil EOKA”, “Ham Meyva / The Unripe Fruit” and “Sonbahar / Autumn”) and O. Lutfi Akad (“Yalnizlar Rihtimi” and “Yangin var”). He then accepted Necil Ozon’s offer, the owner of Ozon Film and thus his directing career started in 1959, with his first movie “Senden Ayri Yasayamam”.
Inanoglu directed the movie “Koyde Bir Kiz Sevdim” starring Turkan Soray who would become renowned as the “Sultan” of Turkish cinema. After extending his directing experience in various producers’ movies (i.e. “Belki Bir Sabah Geleceksin”, “Kucuk Kahraman”, “Yasamak Hakkimdir”, “Dogmadan Olenler”, “Kanun Kanundur”, “Kiralik Koca”, “Olmek mi Yasamak mi”, “Safakta Bulusalim” and “Intikam Ugruna”), he established his own company Erler Film in 1960.
Just at that point of his career, he met the great master of Turkish cinema, art director Sohban Kologlu, who would play a considerable role in his filmography. This acquaintance would turn into a long lasting friendship and create a synergy enriching Inanoglu’s cinema.
